Every 3 minutes, someone in the UK is struck by a heart attack.
Coronary Heart Disease is the UK’s single biggest killer, so as a part of our 2016 CSR initiative we held our second charity day of the year to raise funds for cutting-edge research supported by The British Heart Foundation.
Friday 5th February saw the nation take part in “Wear It Beat It’, a day that included Shire Leasing employees dressing up in red and donate money for The British Heart Foundation. The dress down day resulted in Shire Leasing employees raising a brilliant £159.30! This was further matched by the company, allowing for a final contribution of £318.60 to be made to the charity.
Heart and circulatory disease kills one in four people in the UK, a key reason why The British Heart Foundation was nominated by our CSR Committee to be February’s charity day. Visit The British Heart Foundation website to find out more about what they do and how you can get involved in supporting the cause.
