Shire Leasing Plc’s Finance Director, Helen Lumb has been invited to answer questions at a conference organised by the British Business Bank. Hosted at The Old Library on the 25th June, the event will provide expert insight on alternative finance, from a combination both suppliers and customers.
The alternative finance sector has experienced rapid growth in recent years. Valued at £267 million in 2012, its growth during the next two years was overwhelming, standing at a staggering £1.2 billion in 2014. What’s more, this growth shows no signs of letting up, with research indicating that 46% of the UK’s smaller businesses are currently looking to expand. It is therefore crucial that the entrepreneurs in the driving seat of these businesses are aware of the finance options available to them.
As a member on the panel at the British Business Bank conference, Helen will take questions from various audience members, who seek to know how the alternative finance landscape has changed over the past 5 years. More specifically, Helen will be able to inform audience members of how Shire Leasing Plc has benefited by the £40 million investment from the British Business Bank and the new sectors it has allowed the company to penetrate.
Helen will be joined at the conference by a host of other industry experts and regional leaders, who together will provide a more in depth look at the small business-fuelled recovery. Through direct conversation and interaction with the audience, the panel will shed light on how the alternative finance market has enabled companies to continue their growth, with particular attention paid to the support of the British Business Bank.
