On Friday 25th May, we held our monthly charity day. Shire employees dressed down and raised over £300 for The Donkey Sanctuary!
The Donkey Sanctuary work in many various ways to make a difference. In addition to the sanctuaries that provide care for rescued and neglected donkeys, they also provide veterinary care, animal welfare education, research and much more.
Members of Shire Leasing’s CSR committee went to the Sanctuary in Birmingham’s Sutton Park to present the cheque. Louise Baldwin, from our End of Lease team, commented on the visit:
“We went down to donate the cheque to The Donkey Sanctuary and it was lovely to see some of the donkeys that Shire will be sponsoring. We learnt that one of the facilities that the Sanctuary offers is donkey-assisted therapy, where vulnerable children and adults spend time with donkeys to learn from their physical and emotional experiences.
It was truly heart-warming to witness how vulnerable people can become so uplifted during the time they spend with donkeys, and the positive impact that this charity has”.
After Shire Leasing matched the funds raised by employees, we were able to donate a grand total of £632.28. Visit The Donkey Sanctuary website to find out more.
