This January marked the first full year’s employment of Head of Vendor Sales, Vincenzo Scalzone.
Born in Torino, Italy, Vincenzo’s career spans over 15 years working for some of Europe’s most well-known financial organisations, including CIT Group, De Lage Landen International and GE Capital. It was in July last year that Vincenzo, his wife Beatrix and his two daughters made the permanent move from their home in Paris and have settled into life in the UK in their new home in Solihull.
During his time here at Shire, Vincenzo has used his broad experience in leading sales teams and brought about some fundamental changes in how we approach the sales process. As well as coaching the team in new methods of managing the selling process he has also added to the team, and on each occasion trying to ensure the teams development is balanced with the right skills and characters. He has increased the overall business volume of the team significantly over the period and gained some welcome new high profile brand names into the Shire stable.
Click2Finance, Shire’s new innovative platform to offer leasing facilities as a payment method on any website, was successfully launched by Vincenzo and his team in partnership with Toshiba. Now it’s not just credit card or PayPal that businesses can turn to when looking to acquire assets on the internet.
Speaking about his first year Vincenzo said, “I have enjoyed every minute of the past year with Shire Leasing. We’ve made some significant changes to further strengthen our Sales Team. Collaboration with our Risk and Operations colleagues has paid dividends and brought a renewed focus to how we do our business and serve our customers.
As I begin my second year, my immediate priority is to maintain the high performance and continue to develop our Supplier base. I am very enthused about what’s ahead!”
