On Friday the 22nd of June the sun was shining, the office was in good spirits, and everyone participated in a dress down day in aid of Yes To Life.
Yes To Life is a fantastic charity that helps people dealing with cancer make important treatment decisions, providing people with information to guide them through confusing care options. The day raised awareness for the charity as well as raising a brilliant £130.48 through employee donations, which Shire Leasing will match, resulting in a grand total of £260.98 being donated!
But what does this money actually go towards?
Yes To Life, as mentioned previously, helps people make informed decisions about their treatment options. The charity focuses on impartial information, meaning they do not provide drugs or therapies, rather support – support through their website, blogs, radio show and helpline. Although medical treatment plays an important role in recovery, mental health and wellbeing is just as important and is maybe not as highlighted as it should be. This is why Shire Leasing wanted to raise awareness for this charity as part of it’s CSR initiative and monthly charity days.
