‘Tis the season for giving. On Friday 20th December Shire Leasing topped off a phenomenal year of fundraising for local charities and causes by raising £622.50 for NHS Birmingham Children’s Hospital.
Birmingham’s Children’s Hospital is a leading UK specialist paediatric centre, offering expert care to 90,000 children and young people from across the country every year.
The fundraising event included a buffet, with a range of food donated by employees, as well as a strong encouragement to wear Christmas jumpers, all for a donation in support of the charity.
Earlier in December, Shire volunteers Megan Brewster and Michelle Raybone also sponsored Christmas decorations inside one of the hospital’s wards – Forward Thinking Birmingham – a mental health unit for young people aged 0-25.
Cliff Knott, chair of Shire Leasing’s CSR committee said: “We have fundraised for Birmingham Children’s Hospital for the past four years and will continue to do so in the future. Our NHS goes above and beyond the call of duty, we believe it’s right to give something back, especially at Christmas time, when doctors and nurses will be missing time with their own families to take care of ours.”
Well done to all at Shire Leasing that got involved and helped raise funds for this charity. Find out more about Birmingham Children’s Hospital by visiting the website.
