As part of our ongoing commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Shire Leasing is to hold a dedicated charity day each and every month. After asking our staff, we have decided to help a variety of local and national charities, including Children In Need and local causes such as the Tamworth Food Bank. All the charities have been chosen so our employees get the chance to make a real, positive impact on both a community level and a wider national and international scale.
To be held on the last Friday of each month, each charity day will see fundraising efforts across the business to raise donations of cash or gifts such as toys for each chosen charity.
What’s more, we are proud to announce that it is our staff who will be driving these charitable efforts. Each and every one of our staff lives and breathes the Shire values and this initiative is yet another opportunity for our employees to demonstrate this and contribute to causes they truly believe in.
In fact, with a dedicated CSR Committee held each month, our employees play a vital role in deciding the causes and charities we will be supporting each month, as well as ways we could reduce our environmental impact.
Allowing us to ensure we give our CSR efforts the structure, time and attention they deserve, the committee provides the perfect platform for Shire to regularly meet and discuss important social issues. It also allows us to tackle and address them in the most effective and considered way.
For instance, our decision to introduce branded water bottles to completely replace disposable cups perfectly demonstrates our commitment to becoming a more environmentally friendly and aware company.
Speaking on the charity days, Debra Amos was delighted to offer her thoughts:
“Corporate Social Responsibility remains at the heart of what we do at Shire. As the Head of the CSR Committee I am extremely proud of the commitment of our staff in their efforts to give back to the local and wider community.”
